Dear Journal,

5th Grade Auction

On Friday the 3rd we went to the 5th grade auction.  The 5th graders use the money for their end of the year class party.  Mom bought some gift certificates, 3baby dolls for nana,  a present for Alexis and Trevor, and I got to take home the guidance counselor's puppet Spots a leopard.

Dad's Graduation

On Sunday the 12th, Dad graduated with a Master's Degree in Computer Science from Webster University.  Grandma, Grandpa, Poppop, Grandma, Great Grandma Rhodes, Mom, and me all went.  Dad's friend Dash also graduated.  Then we all went out to lunch at Red Lobster.

4th Grade Fine Arts Night

On Wednesday, the 15th the 4th grade had Fine Arts Night at Waterford Elementary.  Fine Arts Night is a combination of a play and a night to show your parents your art work you did in art class.  Our play was called Florida Alive and it was made up of Florida facts that we learned at the beginning of the year.  Our music teacher turned the information into a play.  I played the gong in the music piece The Hurricane.  I also was one of the six students walking to school together and talking about the hurricane.  We sang five songs.  After the play we went to the 4th grade wing and saw some of my art work.

Weekend of 17-19

On Friday the 17th, Grandma and Poppop came to our house for the weekend.  It was a busy weekend.  On Friday we went shopping and had ice cream at the Marble Slab Creamery.  On Saturday morning we went garage sale-ing.  Later we went to a recycling fair at the garbage dump.  We looked at heaps of recycling stuff, Grandma and I got to climb on a fire truck, we did spin art.  Then I went to Alyssa's birthday party.  We saw the Rugrats In Paris movie.  We played a lot of games.  That night we went to dinner at Sam Seltzers.  We had steak and prime rib.

On Sunday morning, Cinnamon, my hamster, died.  We think she had the flu.  She was 2 1/2 years old.

Auto Show

On Sunday, the 26th we went to the Central Florida Auto show at the convention center.  It was boring.  Mom and Dad were looking for new cars and they found them.  Mom wants a Mitsubishi Spyder and Dad wants a PT Cruiser.  I want a Bigfoot truck so I can have a bigger truck than Poppop!

Field trip to St. Augustine

On Wednesday, the 29th the 4th grade went to St. Augustine.  We left school at 7:30am on Disney buses and we watched the movie Bugs Life on the way there.  When we got there we went souvenir shopping.  Then we took a tour of a couple of old houses.  We saw the blacksmith and carpenter.  Then we went souvenir shopping again.  Next was lunch.  Then we souvenir shopped some more.  Then we went to see the oldest school house in North America.  Then we went to see the Castillo de San Marcos, a fort used to protect the townspeople during wars.  It was called a castle instead of a fort because they borrowed the money to build it from the Queen, but she would only give them money to build it if they called it a castle, not a fort.  Then we came home.  We watched George of the Jungle on the way home.  We got back at 6pm.
